Experimental assessment of the monotonic and cyclic behaviour of exterior RC beam-column joints built with plain bars and non-seismically designed

چکیده

The seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete structures built with plain reinforcing bars is sometimes conditioned by the slippage between and surrounding in elements as exterior beam-column joints. anchorage beam core joint weak confinement, inappropriate reinforcement detailing for loads poor bond properties are common reasons collapse many structures. This paper presents results four unidirectional cyclic tests two monotonic carried out on full-scale joints deformed bars. These specimens representative without adequate loads. influence properties, lapping longitudinal bars, loading response investigated.

R/C Existing Structures with Smooth Reinforcing Bars: Experimental Behaviour of Beam-Column Joints Subject to Cyclic Lateral Loads

Abstract: The paper illustrates the results of experimental tests performed on sub-assemblages of R/C (Reinforced Concrete) existing structures, designed only for gravity loads In order to estimate failure mechanisms and ductility properties, four internal and external R/C beam-column joints were built and tested. The specimens were built by using concrete with low strength and smooth reinforci...

the evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Numerical Simulation with Fibre Beam-column Models of Thin Rc Column Behaviour under Cyclic Tension-compression

Damage to structural walls in the recent earthquakes in Chile (2010) and New Zealand (2011) demonstrated that modern reinforced concrete (RC) wall behaviour can be largely governed by out-of-plane displacements triggered by instability. Thin walls are the most vulnerable to this deformation mechanism, especially if they have a single layer of reinforcement. These wall types can be easily found ...

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

Analytical and Experimental Investigation of I Beam-to-CFT Column Connections under Monotonic Loading (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this study, the behavior characteristics of I beam-to-concrete filled tube (CFT) column connection is studied through experiment and finite element models under the monotonic loading. To validate the finite element modeling, at first, an experimental model is made and experimented. After validation of the finite element modeling, different models were created in the software. The studied par...
